PROPOSALS

Sharing URL/tickets/passwords
Mimi sent a proposal to the list to re-iterate the Cosmo URL/ticket proposal: Provide sharers with an option to password protect their shares on top of handing out URLs with embedded tickets: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005275.html

BCM and other expressed some reservations about the redundancy of having both tickets and passwords. In the end however, we seemed to get on the same page and agreed to go with the proposal.

Priscilla posted an alternate proposal to provide sharers with an option to require sharees to sign up for Cosmo accounts: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005314.html

Next action: Discuss and close on proposals.

Quick Item Entry
Mimi sent a wiki write-up of how the Command-Line-For-Dummies is going to work: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005291.html

Darshana followed up with some questions, which were resolved on the list.

Undo
Mimi sent a laundry list of interactions we might need to support with undo. Included was a first pass at prioritization for the 1.0 timeframe: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005297.html

John Anderson replied that undo should be as general as possible both from end-user and implementation perspectives.

DOGFOOD

Adding read-only items to other collections
Jared reported feedback that he was dismayed when he realized he couldn't add events from read-only subscriptions to his personal calendar: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005303.html

Sheila replied that this is a known issue from 0.6, a scenario we decided to cut, but that's the intent of the design is to support this use case.

Jared also discovered a valid bug in the process: Chandler freezes if you try to drag a read-only item.

Help Menu
Jared also asked when we were considering adding substantive content into the Help menu: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-August/005304.html

Sheila responded that we aren't planning a full-scale Help menu in the Beta timeframe, but we do need to discuss non-code deliverables for Beta, which will probably include a more beefed up FAQ and read-me.
