After speaking with Priscilla, I wanted to clarify something about the Optional Password Proposal: http://lists.osafoundation.org/ pipermail/design/2006-August/005275.html

If the sharee signs up for a Cosmo Account, how difficult is it for us to store the Collection Password with the Account? I realized I was assuming that sharees wouldn't need to enter the password if they login with an account, but that wasn't made explicit in the write-up.

I'll defer to Brian or Bobby on the difficulty of storing collection passwords with accounts.

I do have a different question though. My use of Chandler involves me running the desktop client to update my calendar and then sharing those calendars via iCal. I have two iCal scenarios. 1. Julie is using iCal as her calendar at home and I want her to view my work calendar so that she knows when I have phone calls scheduled. 2. I subscribe to all my Calendars in iCal because iCal can sync my calendars to my phone.

What happens to clients like iCal, etc if we password protect collections or if we require accounts in order to access calendar collections?
