Tomorrow, Tuesday Dec 5th we will be having a design session from 2:30-4PM PST in Whoville to discuss the nice-to-have Cosmo UI for Preview proposal we sent out a few weeks ago.

Goal: We'd like to kick off an iterative process to finalize plans for Preview. PPD has come up with Nice-to-have design proposals and Bare Minimum design proposals. We would like feedback and input from Engineering as to how feasible these proposals are so that we can iterate and turn out a more refined proposal that take into account resource and scheduling limitations.

Agenda
+ (15 min) Review the proposed designs.
+ (10 min) Review the feature list for the designs and fill in gaps.
+ (10 min) Identify red flags.
+ (45 min) SWAG individual features with stickies
+ (5 min) Next actions

Subject: [Design] [Cosmo] Cosmo UI for Preview and Post Preview

PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE DECEMBER
Please download the .ppt slides:
http://wiki.osafoundation.org/pub/Journal/ NiceToHaveProposalsForPreviewCosmoUI/CosmoUIChrome_NTH.ppt

or the .pdf files (listed in the wiki page) as a slide show to review the designs we've been iterating for Cosmo UI in Preview and post Preview.

We're throwing out these proposals with the knowledge that it's too much to accomplish in the short amount of time we have left. However, we wanted to provide a high level picture of where we might be headed post-Preview, while staying within the confines of the Casual Collaborator workflows we've identified for Preview.

Some question we have for you are:
+ Are there things in here that we need to address sooner rather than later because they affect 0.6 development in some way.
+ Do you see any major issues with the proposals?

We've also tried to list out all the features for Preview. This list is compiled from a design perspective, so we will need help from Engineering to fill it out to reflect all the features that will need to be implemented to support the UI.

NEXT ACTIONS
Our next course of action is to review this as a group in early December. We'd like to understand what features are possible, what's really hard, what's trivial. We will then go back and come up with another proposal based on the feedback, but then it would be good to come up with a coherent set to map on a stickie plan.

ADDITIONAL/BACKGROUND INFO.
Please also note we did some design explorations in terms of prioritizing the 'nice to have features'. Here are the wiki pages that describe the bare minimum proposal for Preview:

OK. There is a lot here, so just list out some open issues if you have any on the wiki page and we'll go over them in December.
