No design session this week.

New Threads:

Sheila sent out 'Expectations for using Cosmo 0.5 to edit calendar': http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-December/ 005799.html This is potential bug that corrupts a users' calendar data if they edit calendar (published in Chandler) from the Cosmo UI. A reminder that Cosmo 0.5 is not fully dog-foodable yet, though testing the Cosmo UI and logging bugs are welcome. Currently bugs for Cosmo are fixed in the next release. Cosmo 0.6 will be our "first dogfoodable release" and implies we will have higher
stability expectations for Cosmo UI in the next iteration.

Continued Discussions:

Priscilla sent out a last call on how time zones will work on the Cosmo UI: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006- November/005788.html + Bobby had proposed staging work on time zones for 0.6. The only things lacking would be 1. Turning off time zones (floating mode), 2. Choosing what timezone to view events in. + It was agreed that once the Casual Collaborator work was done for 0.6, if there is still time, then he would continue finishing off time zones. + Mitch proposed to have a alert prompt to turn time zones on if the shared calendar already has a time zone. This is in response to an event at 2PM PST and 2PM EST being displaying on the same time slot. The published calendar should have a "suggested" time zone which is used in just this case - when the user hasn't set a time zone view and there are events in more than time zone.

Based on this thread: http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/ 2006-November/005664.html Priscilla summarized 'Cancel button in the event details': http:// lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-November/005785.html + Currently on Cosmo there is a 'Remove' and 'Save' button at the bottom of the event details. If the user fills out the form and clicks away, nothing is actually saved until the user selects the 'Save' button. + Next actions: It seems for now keeping with the current design ('Remove' and 'Save' buttons) is fine for Preview. We will revisit this issue again when we receive some more concrete feedback from dog- food users or users post Preview.

Magic URL visual design review. Continue discussion about Cosmo UI as internationalization-friendly, specifically in the 'subscription teaser' (the area where a not-logged in user would click to sign up). http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-November/ 005760.html

Eric Harg forwarded a new thread to the list to inquire about Support for Nuxeo's CPSSharedCalendar. He had been trying out Chandler and ran into some interoperability issues linking to their content management system and their calendar server (CPSSharedCalendar). Eric ran into a sharing zanshin error. http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-November/ 005746.html + Still running into some errors 'Failed to subscribe'. Grant mentioned that Chandler is not understanding what CPS is sending and continued to speak with Eric off line to help him to view his tcpdump so his ID/PW was not exposed on the list.
