Katie is probably right. By default alarms are not shared (you need
to select that explicitly). I don't know many people that do share
alarms so there is likely a bug somewhere.

I would not assume that the subscriptions were shared with "share
alarms" -- it is possible that you are just encountering a bug. It
is worth tracking this down to be sure.
