I wanted to bring the following from the 0.6 spec to the attention of
the list:
Where does the help - '?' icon link to? For any software
application including a web application, it would be ideal if the
'help section' (which currently exists in multiple places) is part
of the application. For 0.6, it is presumed that the help would
take the user to Cosmo Causal Collaborator end user documentation
which would be on the OSAF wiki. The reason for this is because of
the rapid change in development, for Cosmo 0.6 there is really not
enough man power to work on the help section as a stand alone project.
This note is to acknowledge there are various levels of help docs
currently on the wiki for different users, ie. Admin user for the
OSAF bundle, Casual Collaborator user using the OSAF hosted
service, developers who are just trying to look at the Cosmo code,
etc. Please remember the focus and the goal for Cosmo 0.6 until
Preview, the primary focus is for the Casual Collaborator and the
OSAF Administrator user for the hosted service. Temporary help
documents will be provided on the OSAF wiki for Preview, Help
documentation as a dedicated feature will be slated in a later
release, post Preview.
So in other words, there is this help icon in the Collection Details
dialog box. I need to know where exactly it should link to and (Jared
has mentioned something about a url which redirects to a wiki page)
and also, I need to know that stuff will be there, whether it's me or
someone else who is responsible for creating that content and putting
it there.
