+ Now that we're more than a calendar...
+ Now that the Dashboard in the calendar app area is a table view,
not a calendar view...
We need to reconsider what users see when they launch Chandler for
the first time...
See bug: https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6545
See wiki for screenshots of OOTB configuration: http://

Here's a first pass at a proposal to help new users understand the
following:
+ Faceted sidebar;
+ Items can belong in multiple collections;
+ Stamping; and
+ Triage
Most importantly, we want to make sure users can discover the
Calendar UI, which is admittedly a bit tricky in Preview (because we
don't yet have a way to choose Table and Calendar view independent of
the App areas).
SIDEBAR
+ Launch Chandler with 3 user-defined collections that are included
in the sidebar: Home, Work and Fun
+ Select the All App area and the Dashboard collection
+ Overlay only the Work and Home collections
ITEMS
+ Welcome note should be an Addressed, Scheduled Task on the Calendar
- Addressed as From: OSAF, To: Me, Sent by: OSAF at xxx
- Marked as an Unread, Inbound message
- Schedule for Today from 12-1PM
- Triaged as NOW
- In the Home and Work collections
+ Task: Try sharing a Home task list.
+ Triaged as LATER
+ Custom alarm set for Tomorrow at 8AM
+ In the Home collection
+ Event: Play around with the Calendar
+ Scheduled for Today, 3-4PM
+ Triaged as NOW
+ In Home collection
+ Scheduled Task on the Calendar: Download Chandler
+ Triaged as DONE
+ Scheduled for Today, 11-11:15AM
+ In Work collection
+ Scheduled Task on the Calendar: Set up your accounts
+ Triaged as LATER
+ Scheduled for Today, 4-4:15PM
+ In Fun collection
This way, the user will hopefully notice some of the following:
+ Items can show up in multiple app ares
+ Items can show up in multiple collections
+ All 3 Triage statuses / sections
+ All items are in the Dashboard
+ In the calendar view, if Work is selected, you'll see 2 events in
Work, 1 of which has a swatch telling you it's also in Home and 1
event underlayed in Home.
+ If Home is selected, you'll see 2 event in Home, 1 of which has a
swatch telling you it's also in Work and 1 event underlayed in Work.
+ If Fun is selected, the 1 Fun event will overlay on top of the Home
and Work calendars.
Is there anything missing? Is having 4 items OOTB too annoying?
Mimi
