Would it be difficult to treat 'split recurrence series' the same way
we treat modifications to individual events? e.g. Just because I
change the Title on instance 3 of a recurring series doesn't mean
that the next time I make a 'this and future' change to say the
'location' field, I don't want instance 3 to be affected as well. It
seems like if we're going to start keeping track of modifications on
a per-attribute basis, we should do that for all kinds of
modifications, including date/time modifications that split the
recurrence series into multiple parts.

Currently if you make a modification to an event in a recurring
series and choose "all future events" from the recurrence change
dialog the recurrence series will be split into two series with
changes to one series not affecting the other series. To me this
is somewhat confusing and I thought it was worth posting to the
list as others may be confused by this as well.
Currently Chandler works this way by design and iCal and other
calendars tend to work this way as well.
Example of series splitting behavior:
1) create a daily recurring event on Sunday with no end date and a
title of 'A'
2) change Tuesdays title to 'B' and choose 'all future events'
3) change Mondays title to 'C' and choose 'all future events'
4) notice that only Monday has the title of 'C' even though 'all
future events' was chosen. This is because step (2) 'split' the
recurrence series into two with Sunday and Monday in one series
with an end date equal to Mondays date, and Tuesday forward in
another never-ending series. Because of this split changes to
Sunday and Monday will no longer affect the Tuesday forward series.
5) click on Sunday and Monday and look at the detail view 'ends'
field and verify that the recurrence series now has an end date
equal to Mondays date
6) click on events on Tuesday or latter and verify that the detail
view 'ends' field shows no end date
