Hi John,

I created the following items in the

John Anderson

Lucene returns them in the following order:
John Anderson
1 John 2 Anderson 3
test 2 John Anderson test 3
asdf asd fasd John asdf asdfasdf Anderson aasdf asdf asfd sadf
John Anderson2

Ranking definitely isn't working for me on the trunk, but perhaps I'm
seeing different behavior from you. I just did another search, and a
nagging suspicion was confirmed: The sort I'm seeing is by creation
time, with spurious linearly degrading ranking being rendered. This is
running r13076 on Win32. Perhaps something's off on Windows?

That's interesting. I just tried the above test on XP and got the same result as I did before on Mac. I used revision 13079. This example doesn't seem like it's sorted by creation time.

Can you try the example above and see if you get a different result than I do?

John
