imagine that somebody uploads a file into a shared collection in cosmo using webdav. this is an arbitrary file of no type directly supported by either cosmo or chandler - maybe it's an excel spreadsheet.
the next time chandler syncs that collection, should cosmo send the spreadsheet to chandler? should the spreadsheet show up as an item in the cosmo dashboard? if the answer to either/both of these questions is yes, should the spreadsheet be modeled as a Note item? this would mean it has a body that is potentially viewable/editable in the chandler and cosmo detail views and that it has an icaluid which would allow it to possibly be exported to icalendar as a VJOURNAL - both of which could be awkward for a spreadsheet saved in a binary format. for now, cosmo will send attributes about the spreadsheet to chandler, but it won't send the spreadsheet's contents, and it will not report the spreadsheet as a Note. chandler will only learn the uuid, title (filename), triage status, triage status changed, last modified by, and created on attributes. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Open Source Applications Foundation "Design" mailing list http://lists.osafoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/design
