Updating the Email spec was more fun than I anticipated! As usual,
changes are in GREEN :o)
bkirsch and others, please review to make sure I have described the
EIML mechanism correctly and to provide the usual reality/consistency
check. Thx! Mimi
The most significant updates are in the areas describing Sending,
Receiving, Replying to and Forwarding message items in Chandler.
Here, email has changed significantly because of the Edit/Update
workflows we will be supporting for Preview.
+ Sending and Receiving items in a world with EIML attachments and
Edit/Update
+ Replying, Replying to all and Forwarding Chandler items in a world
with EIML attachments and Edit/Update.
Forwarding turns out to have been more fun than I anticipated. I will
follow up with a separate thread, just to discuss our options for
Forwarding in Preview.
I've removed the Stamping Storyboard description from the Email spec
to simplify spec maintenance. The Email spec now focuses solely on
describing how email as a transport mechanism works to support
workflows like Edit/Update.
I've also amended parts of the Account set-up section with recent
tweaks Brian and I have worked out in bugzilla.
+ Change the [x] Set up special Chandler IMAP folders checkbox to
dynamic [Add] and [Remove] buttons
+ Automatically check to see if user has already set up Chandler
folders when Testing accounts

OPEN ISSUES: Is it trivial to implement the following?
Nice to have: Users should be able to toggle between Reply and Reply
all, after-the-fact
1. User selects Message to reply to
2. User clicks Reply in the toolbar
3. User changes their mind and clicks Reply all
Chandler should not spawn a separate 'Reply all' mail in reply to the
'Reply mail'. Instead, Chandler should toggle between addressing the
Addressing fields as a Reply versus a Reply all.
Nice to have: When replying or forwarding emails in the In
collection, would it be possible to populate the detail view with the
Reply / Forward without switching collections?
