It's been that way since I implemented that fake modal dialog box for signup in Snarf. :)

What random, poorly worded message are you referring to? The min. length
prompt is oddly worded, but I don't think it's particuarly unclear.

Yeah, you're probably thinking of the old signup pages from the Cosmo admin UI.

In any case, we absolutely should add some prompts to let people know stuff like min. length for the fields. The way that it is now, they have to guess, and wait for the gotcha error message to come back before they know what the requirements are.
