We probably don't want to wait for a drag, since simply clicking on a different item from the currently selected one will also wipe out any changes to the form.

I might suggest slightly different wording for the message -- 'please' might be taken as a request, as if we *want* them to save their changes. Maybe something like:

"You have made changes to this event. If you do not save your changes, they will be lost."

In any case, I think we need to implement this to avoid a lot of users unintentionally blowing away changes they've made.

Hi,

Is there a way to dis-ambiguate [Cancel]?

Does [Cancel], cancel moving the event around on the canvas? Or does [Cancel], cancel the changes the user made in the detail view?

Title: Save Changes
-----
Please save changes or your edits will be lost.
[Ignore Edits] [Save Edits]

Should we pop this up as soon as the user clicks down on the calendar canvas? So as not to confuse it with the change the user is making by dragging the event lozenge around?

4. (Before the lozenge move takes place…) An error dialog pop up with the message: 'Please select 'Save' before moving the event on the calendar otherwise all the event information will be lost.' [Cancel] [Save]
