Just a quick forward from a mailing list I'm on from someone looking for a calendar for their community. No particular conclusions; it's just interesting to see when people compile requirement lists.

Hi folks-

I've been asked to set up a web-based calendar system for my Jewish
community but I can't seem to find one that fits the following
requirements:

1) must be able to host it on the group's website (standard web
hosting via TextDrive) -- putting the data on someone else's servers,
e.g. Gcal, makes them very uncomfortable.

2) must be multi-user -- to allow different members the ability to
log in and change or view things based on their access level

3) must be able to use external authentication (i.e. .htpasswd would
be fine) -- the rationale being that a package with its own self-
contained account system isn't going to play nice with future things
they want like a wiki, etc.

4) must be able to have multiple, overlapping calendars -- so we
could put the Jewish holidays, birthdays, etc in separate calendars
and chose/not chose to mesh it with the community's events.

Stuff like RSS feeds, iCal support (import/export). customization via
CSS, etc would be swell.

I've looked at *a lot* of packages so far (try typing "calendar" into
freshmeat.net or sourceforge.net if you got a number of hours to
kill) but everything I've found comes up short (#3 seems to be a
killer).

Does anyone have a package they like?

Thanks!
