Looks great Priss. One minor thing that everyone probably already
knows, but might be worth noting in the spec.
New events are automatically created in the time zone the user
selects from the default time zone pulldown.

I'm basically trying to refine the proposal so we're all clear on
what is being implemented for 0.7. I sat down with Bobby and
reviewed some of the time zone issues in ticket view.
I've added a time zone section on the 0.7 spec:
http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/CosmoZeroDotSevenSpec#TimeZone
*The open design issue about the time zone in ticket view:*
+ "Javascript can't access the time zone info of the host per se,
it can only get the current off set, which lets you GUESS the time-
zone." —meaning the time zone displayed is the local system/browser
time zone, but it cannot be saved or interpreted as the names
listed in the time zone picker.
+ How does the web UI encourage users to pick a time zone, because
the collection they are viewing has time zone information?
*Proposal we've agreed on:*
+ If there is time zone information in the shared collection,
display the time zone picker in both the dashboard and calendar
views. The user will be able to see they have not selected a time
zone. See updated mock up of the location of the time zone picker:
http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/
CosmoZeroDotSevenSpec#CurrentMockUp
+ If there is no time zone information or if the time zone
information is in floating time, then the time zone picker will not
appear in floating time.
+ If the shared collection has time zone information, individual
event items will still display time zone information in the detail
view and on the lozenge.
*Updated proposal for ticket view:*
+ When a user views the collection with time zone information in
ticket view, it will default to 'Select a time zone…' in the time
zone picker.
*Updated proposal for hub account holders:*
+ Users who create a new account on the hub are *required to
specify a time zone*. (This will affect the sign up workflow.)
+ When account holders add a collection with time zone information
to their account, it will display in the time zone specified by the
hub account holder. This will eliminate the alert bar to appear for
most of the users, unless the user specifically turned time zone off.
+ If the hub account user decides to turn off time zone
information, then an alert bar will appear when the user views adds
the collection with time zone information to their account.
See updated sign up work flow under the time zone section: http://
chandlerproject.org/Projects/CosmoZeroDotSevenSpec#SignUp (I will
be updating the spec with images to follow.)
*Note:* Not everything is required for 0.7 and everything is
subject to schedule. Any changes feature updates will be tracked
with bugzilla.
