I think there might be some confusion. I sent an email to the chandler-dev list a while ago outlining our strategy for Preview import/export.

http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/chandler-dev/2007-June/ 008322.html

For Preview we are officially supporting iCal and Outlook. When I say "support" I mean that we will be actively including these in our Export/Import test scenarios and we will be prioritizing bugs that prevent these users from getting started with Chandler. We currently have active dogfooders that are importing their data from these applications.

That being said, our philosophy is to be able to support other apps, particularly those that support standards. We acknowledge that we don't have the resources to test import files from all the possible applications (and versions) that people might be using. We do however want to actively engage with users that come to our lists, want to use Chandler and are unable to get their data into the application. Who knows what they might be trying to use. We would also like to encourage our community to help us troubleshoot these issues which is why I setup that interop page. http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/ PreviewDesktopImportExport

This page is just a baseline. It was not my intent to imply that we were supporting these applications for a specific version or in any particular prioritization. I simply wanted to setup a page that others could evolve depending on what types of users try to import their data. I think Mimi listed Ecco Pro as an example because they are a community that "might" be interested in Chandler. Maybe the section will never get filled out and that's fine.

Cheers,
Sheila

A while back I was given a list of clients that we need to support in our import/export scenario for Chandler.

The list is a little too vague to build a strategy around as is and I was hoping for feedback about the various clients;

Outlook
 - What versions?
Palm
 - Do you mean Palm Desktop?
 - What versions
iCal
 - I assume we mean the current iCal, not the next version.
Entourage
 - What versions?
Ecco Pro
- Why are we supporting this? They seem to have one developer left and a fairly small user base.
Evolution
 - What versions? What platforms?
Sunbird
- Should we replace this with Lightning since it currently has more focus?
 - What versions?
Google Calendar
 - No questions here. Gotta love webapps :)
Zimbra
 - What versions?
