New Threads:

Jeffrey sent out a mail explaining how we are populating the Timezone drop downs in Chandler.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/007049.html
+ This is in reference to some changes we were thinking about making in Cosmo.
+ We have deferred all this work to post-Preview.

Mimi started a new post titled - All Your Recurrence Rules Are Belong To Us...
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/007051.html
+ Mimi wanted to explore the different classes of changes that users will make to recurring events and based on context, what behavior do they expect to see in the application. + Oren replied that most often he sees modifications to time/place attributes.

Continued Discussions:

There was further discussion on the thread about Editing Read-only items.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-April/007055.html
+ It appears after some investigation we have discovered a bug with the readonly markup bar icon not appearing correctly. This has since been fixed. + After much back and forth we closed on a proposal for Preview. We will repurpose the lock icon and allow the user to make local edits to read only items.
+ If the item is read-write, there is no lock icon
+ If the lock item is there, the user cannot edit the item
+ If they click on the lock icon, the user has decided to make local edits to the item. They will get appropriate confirmation/warning dialogs about what will happen.
+ If they click lock again, they revert back to what is on the server.

As a follow-up to the above thread Mimi sent an email talking about how to handle Editing Read-only items in Cosmo.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007074.html
+ We understand that we won't be able to plug all the security holes since users can take items from read only collections and share them with a read-write collection. + Although we have decided to try and handle this issue in the desktop, we have deferred implementing a similar fix into Cosmo for Preview. + Basically we will not give users the ability to add annotate or local edits to read only items - disallowing edits to items in read only collections.

Mimi sent out an email proposing that we rename the dump and reload feature - Should we rename Dump and Reload?
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007077.html
+ Most people were in favor of this.
+ We ended up with the following menu items
        + Export Collections and Settings
        + Reload Collections and Settings

Pieter sent out a comment to the list that he finds it very hard to find items that have conflicts - pending change (conflict) items
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007087.html
+ Pieter found it hard to find these items until you click on the detail view and they would be embedded in the various sections - Now, Later. + This seems like a bug. You should get the error icon in the list view. You can easily sort on that.

Pieter also commented that he finds it really hard to understand how the items are ordered in the various triage sections - triage list view - sorting
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007088.html
+ Mimi explained the various subsorts and ordering that we are using.
+ Pieter replied that he would like to see an option for simply displaying events in order of start time - particularly if he is looking for a particular item + After some further analysis we discovered there is a combination of a couple of bugs and some enhancements that we will have post preview. + We would like to continue to get more dogfood feedback and tweak the order as necessary. + Mimi summarized the options in another email - http:// lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007102.html

Mimi sent out an addendum to the sharing spec - Addendum to 0.7 Sharing Spec
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007103.html
+ This pulled together a bunch of changes we have made due to bugs we have found or iterating with developers.
