New Threads:
Priscilla sent out a proposal for implement a new detail view in
Cosmo - Detail View
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007107.html
+ We are doing quite a bit of new work in Cosmo on the detail view
and have the opportunity to implement some enhancements.
+ Priscilla presented the rational and the basic proposal
+ She wanted to understand the concerns and risks of doing this.
+ Although there were concerns from a risk and strategic perspective,
the developers were in favor of moving forward with the new design so
we decided to do that.
Matthew started a Cosmo thread on Edits and saving in the Web UI
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007134.html
+ There was considerable discussion about how to make this work
correctly, the options and the tradeoffs as far as performance and
web standards are concerns.
+ In the end we have decided to address all of this post preview. The
user will be prompted with a dialog alerting them to save their changes.
Priscilla sent out a Cosmo proposal for Remove and delete items.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007167.html
+ The desired behavior for Preview is that when items are deleted
that belong to other shared collections, they are are simply hidden
from the collection that we are deleting from and still exists on the
server and in other potential collections.
+ BCM confirmed this is the behavior we current support in 0.6.1.
Travis posted a Cosmo thread on Chandler Server OOTB Collection
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007189.html
+ Basically all users are given a default calendar we now display as
"Cosmo" in the calendar drop down. We want to change the name for
branding purposes and he was looking for alternate suggestions to
"Default Collection"
+ After examine a bunch of alternatives the consensus seemed to be to
use the account name for the OOTB collection.
+ This has already been fixed.
Pieter posted a thread on - incorporating events from public
calendars into my dashboard
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007211.html
+ He outlined a use case where he subscribes to a number of Google
and other public calendars that display as read only in Chandler. He
inquired about our support to annotating these items in Chandler
without having to move these to some other calendar.
+ This is a useful feature but we won't be supporting it for Preview.
Pieter also posted a thread titled - When Dashboard does not equal
Dashboard
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007215.html
+ Pieter outlined a use case where he had published his dashboard
collection then installed a new Chandler and restored the shares and
ended up with 2 dashboards (published one and the OOTB dashboard. He
asked if we were supposed to sync up these 2 collections as the same.
+ We encourage users to use a dump file to restore their previous setup.
+ We are not supporting restore published shares in a first class way.
+ There may also be a bug - you shouldn't be able to share and OOTB
collection. This should solve a few issues including a problem with
dump and reload we didn't think about.
Priscilla sent out a note re: Cosmo Styleguide updates
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007227.html
+ She and Mimi had made some changes and updated the latest mockup in
the styleguide.
+ Refer to the styleguide for the latest modifications and iterations.
Continued Discussions:
Mimi sent out a last call for the triage list view - sorting
conversation
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007165.html
Mimi followed up this thread with a more detailed description of the
proposal - Dashboard - Revisiting sorting by Triage Status
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007170.html
+ The outcome of all this lengthy discussion was logging and
prioritizing several bugs.
+ https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/ show_bug.cgi?id=9065.
+ https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/ show_bug.cgi?id=8939

Mimi responded to an old Cosmo thread - Instructions on
downloading .ics file in the collection details dialog
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2007-May/007187.html
+ We are revisiting the wording of the instruction text when a user
selects the option to download a .ics file - they select "download
calendar and task" from the drop-down menu in the collection details
dialog.
+ The desired text is..Save this calendar as a .ics file to your
desktop. Import the file into your favorite calendar application.
Importing the .ics file to your favorite calendar program will not be
synched with Chandler.
+ This is currently logged as bug https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/
show_bug.cgi?id=7877
+ This is a low priority issue and will be triaged with all the other
Cosmo bugs to decide if we make the change or not.
