I added this to the live.gnome.org wiki, and Raphael has already seen it, but I thought I should post to the list, as well. I've written a tutorial for creating Deskbar Applet handlers. It doesn't cover asynchronous handlers yet, but I will eventually add that. Any other suggestions are welcome, as well!
