------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-12-13 06:58 UTC ------- I managed to open a terminal and here is some output I found interesting: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ killall gnome-panel <gnome panel respawns thanks to gnome-session> ** (gnome-panel:17436): WARNING **: /build/buildd/gnome-panel-2.13.2/./gnome-panel/panel-applet-frame.c:1240: failed to load applet OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet: Failed to resolve, or extend '!prefs_key=/apps/panel/applets/applet_5/prefs;background=pixmap:35651717,-1,-1;orient=down;size=x-small;locked_down=false *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x082bf900 *** I did apt-get remove fast-user-switch-applet and that is likely my problem. However, this should *NOT* be a fatal gnome error and it is. With the applet not present, the panel freaks and absolutely does not work. Reinstalling fusa fixed this problem, but I think this ticket should stay open as a missing applet cripples gnome to a newbie user. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
