Now that you explained it, I can understand why it behaves that way. The only
thing that bothers me is that, even though the device has been removed and the
/dev/sdaX file doesn't exist anymore, the icon remains in the mount applet and
in Nautilus. I think this is counter-intuitive. If the device is not present
(and so, not mountable), it should not appear in the UI. That would avoid error
messages when people try to re-mount it.
