Ubuntu | gnome-themes
Summary: Theme clash when gnome and KDE installed
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-themes
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Ok, here's what I did:
1. Install Breezy i386 as standard w/ gnome desktop
2. "sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop" to install KDE
3. Started a KDE session
4. started KDE system settings tool, selected appearance, GTK+ apps
5. Requested that KDE use a fixed theme (clearlooks-clarity, installed in gnome
from download) for all GTK apps.
Since then, the gnome theme tool is unable to update the control theme that I
use properly - everything looks like clearlooks-clarity (but with the ocasional
colour change). If I return to KDE and select 'use my KDE theme in GTK
applications', then back in gnome everything looks KDE-ified.
I can work-around to change the gnome theme properly by starting KDE and asking
it to use a certain theme for all GTK apps, and this setting is persisited
across to the gnome session. However, the conrol section of gnome theme manager
is efectively useless.
Keep up the good work.
