Ubuntu | nautilus

Summary: [dapper] nautilus and samba not playing nice
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: nautilus
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
         QAContact: [email protected]

Samba shares work flawlessly in KDE and XFCE on this machine, so I think the
problem is in nautilus.

Clicking PLaces> Network Servers in the gnome panel, I get the password dialog.
I have to delete the name and workgroup and hit enter. I can sort of see all
the windows shares in my house. they are desktop configuration files and trying
to open them gives an error. something about security and to change the file
extension if I really want to open the file.
