Ubuntu | gnome-desktop

           Summary: Printing silently fails
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-desktop
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have an HP 3200 networked printer. If my laptop is not connected to the
network, I'm of course unable to print.

However a user does not always know when they have a functional network
connection. If one attempts to use a networked printer that is unavailible due
to network non-connectivity a message should be provided indicating that user to
check the network connection.

Several times now I've been "tricked" by this and it's not till I've deleted a
printer or some other drastic option that I realize the true issue, my wireless
connection is broken.
