Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/31554
Comment: Oddly enough... no, it doesn't fix the issue (I really thought it would). Additional information: the drives do not show up in "computer", either, where I was certain they would. Additional Info #2: Hotpluggable and network drives _do_ show up in all three locations (Tree, Places, Computer, etc) when something like my iPod nano and USB storage key are plugged in. When unmounted, they go away. CD's tend to show up as well. Additional Info #3: Issuing a sudo /etc/init.d/dbus restart makes the drives show up! However, this crashes gnome-volume-manager (which kills hotplugging/cd-mounting). Re-running gnome-volume-manager makes hotplugging work again, but when connecting an IPOD, the icon that shows up is that of a standard hard drive, and not the IPOD specific one. Curiouser and Curiouser. Thank you for taking the duplicate tag off, and for listening to all this drivel. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
