Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32545
Comment: Breezy Badger 5.10 Dapper Drake 20060228 Please note that there are 2 Manufacturer indications used in PPDs for Hewlett Packard: "HP" and "HP (HPLIP)". You specifically need to select "HP (HPLIP)" as Manufacturer! Then select "HP DeskJet 930C" as model and you will see under Driver "hpijs (recommended)". Please note that in the case you manually added /usr/share/ppd/HP- Deskjet_930C-hpijs.ppd the Manufacturer indication is "HP (HPLIP)". Workaround: Edit the file /usr/share/ppd/HP-Deskjet_930C-hpijs.ppd and change the Manufacturer indication from "HP (HPLIP)" to "HP". Now add you printer again, you will find the printer under "HP" indicating the recommended driver "hpijs (recommended)". Note: you will see that "hpijs (recommended)" is listed twice under driver, this is because of this bug https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/32302. The problem is in package hplip-ppds in breezy and dapper 20060228. These PPDs incorrectly use "HP (HPLIP)" as *Manufacturer string. This is not allowed according to the Adobe PPD Specification v4.3. I have filled a bug upstream in Debian for this a while ago: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=347264 -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
