Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33242

Affects: hal (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When inserting a video DVD, Gnome incorrectly reports that a DVD-ROM is
present and it's impossible to play the disc.

If you then insert an audio CD and remove it, video DVDs are
successfully detected and playable until shutdown.

This problem happens on every install, and occurs on every boot.

This problem existed in Breezy and still exists on the current Dapper
build, and others have experienced it as mentioned on ubuntuforums.

My particular hardware:

hdc: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-716A, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive

It's the only CD/DVD drive present.
