Comment: totem-gstreamer Multimedia streams selector isn't in my menus, so i ran 'gstreamer- properties' Trying with video .... Output: Autodetect Pipeline: autovideosink Result: Totem still exhibits the same behaviour. Output: XWindows (no Xv) Pipeline: ximagesink Result: Totem still exhibits the same behaviour. Output: XWindows (X11,XShm,Xv) Pipeline: xvimagesink Result: Totem still exhibits the same behaviour. I went back to Totem Edit->Preferences->Display 'Show visual effects when an audio file is played' == false Set 'Show visual effects when an audio file is played' == true. Close Totem. Open ogg file in Totem, visualisation GOOM what GOOM is observed in the main window. Flicking between different drop down menus doesnt exhibit the same overlapping as before. Ok now disable the visual effects and see if the menus still operate. Totem->Edit->Preferences->Display 'Show visual effects when an audio file is played' == false. Restart totem. Menus open when mouse is moved over them and then close again when the mouse is moved away. Try all three videosinks and check to see whether menus display properly and work when visualisation is off/on. Output: Autodetect Pipeline: autovideosink Result: Visualisation Off = menus OK, On = menus OK Output: XWindows (no Xv) Pipeline: ximagesink Result: Visualisation Off = menus OK, On = menus OK. Output: XWindows (X11,XShm,Xv) Pipeline: xvimagesink Result: Visualisation Off = menus OK, On = menus OK. It has to be noted that changing the audio output sink in gstreamer properties passed the gstreamer property test although in totem the menus didnt work as expected. So to work around this bug for me i needed to enable visualisations on audio files within totem, then the menus work fine regardless if in the future i disable them again. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
