Thanks, Bruce! If it makes you want to fix this bug, then perhaps "all this moaning" was not so wrong! Even if it is not a security risc (I do agree with Sebastien), this bug is important, and it might well stop somebody using Ubuntu. Sound-Juicer is the standard application for ripping CDs to MP3 players, and just that does not work! The workaround described above is not easy, and I am not even shure it really works (see comment of Sergio).
