You have been subscribed to a public bug:

There is a site with bunch of mms:// embedded objects (which are supposed to be
played by totem). (I can give the name of the site if you need it).
Totem attempts to play those objects, but some of the sites are unavailable, so
totem fails to play some of them. After several attempts (I ran through the
list of available tv channels) totem fails to play any movie (even on my own
computer). It says

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Videos$ totem War.avi
** Message: Couldn't initialize lirc.

The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 49 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

If I restart the system totem plays everything again.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty and totem-gstreamer. I suppose that the
problem is that totem (gstreamer?) does not free resources if it fails
to open an mms stream (or has been interrupted while openning an mms
stream)
