I am experiencing the same problem. When you maximize a gnome-terminal, you are not able to resize it, minimize it or close it by the buttons in the top right corner when using Compiz. When you try to either press one of the window buttons of the top right corner or double click on the title bar, then the window title bar look like it lost focus. When you then again click either one of the buttons or on the title bar, then it will ignore the terminal window and perform the action on the window behind it (which is really annoying, many times I have closed applications when I wanted to close the terminal).
