This bug got me looking into the problem being related to epiphany- extensions. Removing all extensions the problem seems to be fixed. After adding extensions back untill the problem reappeared , it looks like it's caused by the "Creative Commons license viewer(cc-license- viewer.py)" and the "Favicon fallback( favicon.py)" extensions.
