Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I just recently installed Ubuntu Linux 7.04 and was happy that sound
worked straight away (during boot and close-down) and from most sound
tools I've added (VLC media player and Audacity), but never from the
included Rhythmbox Media Player that came with the installation (can't
recall which version).
After attempting pretty much all available suggested solutions on the
net, I decided to upgrade Rhythbox to latest version (0.11.2) to see if
that possibly cured the problem - but no; still no sound output.
Since I'm not experienced with Linux, I was nearly giving up all hope, till
someone on the net made me aware that an error report could actually be
produced from within the application, so
that's what I just did.
Let me note that I'll appreciate all help here since Rhythmbox seems
pretty easy to use and has most needed features to replace what
MediaPlayer is in a Windows environment.
So, thanks in advance to people getting themselves involved here :)
Deccard.
