Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem
I have a DVD containing amongst other things the file "event.mpg" which can also be downloaded from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~ijackson/bikecams/links/2007-08-13 -Taxi-event.mpg (this file has md5sum 77b6266489a03424a5714698e51b977e and I have checked that the file on the DVD can be read and is identical). The file is an MPEG-1 video with stereo audio track. If I double-click on this file (after installing gutsy i386 20070823 d-i) totem opens, and I'm then diverted into the codec search. After I have installed gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly, I'm briefly left looking at a black totem window and then totem closes. Attempting to view the video by double-clicking on the file again shows a totem window with a black video pane, as before, which then closes straight away. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: totem I have a DVD containing amongst other things the file "event.mpg" which can also be downloaded from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~ijackson/bikecams/links/2007-08-13 - -Taxi-event.ogg (this file has md5sum 57a8299eab67a7e4e003dafb627b4967 + -Taxi-event.mpg (this file has md5sum 77b6266489a03424a5714698e51b977e and I have checked that the file on the DVD can be read and is identical).
