I'm experiencing the same problem. The "Extract" button (in the "Extract" dialog) doesn't work and neither does drag-n-drop. The only way I can get to the files in the archive is to use the "Extract here" function when right clicking the file and retrieving the files that I want to use from the created directory.
The archive is a backup of my "Documents and Settings" folder from my Windows installation.
