opening an image is *very* slow, running eye of gnome from the
command prompt is also slow and comes up with
** (eog:6550): WARNING **: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes
include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus
security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.
I assume its referring to dbus?? which *is* running
GNOME eog 2.19.5
D-Bus Message Bus Launcher 1.1.1
an image viewer really does need to come up straight away, *if* dbus is
essential
eog should wait for it in a separate thread while it gets on with actually
showing the image - which is kinda what its for...
You cant guarantee the availability of dbus on a particular system or at any
particular time.
