Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Totem doesn't load (recognize) the text files with the subtitles when
names of the *.avi file and the *.txt file are different.

(SMPlayer doesn't as well but in SMPlayer you can add a subtitle
manually).

In Totem manual selection of the subtitle file fails. It doesn't
recognize the subtitle file added via subtitles menu. You can add it to
playlist but if you drag and drop it onto screen the warning appears:
"An error occurred. GstPlayBin: Only a subtitle stream was detected.
Either you are loading a subtitle file or some other type of text file,
or the media file was not recognized." (similar bug was reported before)

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
