You have been subscribed to a public bug:
When using a flash plugin in Opera, the screensaver (standard Gnome) will
activate even though mouse events occur.
Once the screen starts dimming, click-events are no longer passed to the flash
plugin.
One has to leave the plugin area with the mouse to stop the screensaver/the
dimming.
After that, you need to do the usual "re-enter the plugin area and 'click to
activate this control'", before the plugin accepts mouse events again.
While with youtube, loosing mouse clicks is not critical, try to play a flash
game this way... ;-)
How to reproduce:
1. You might want to set your gnome screensaver to 1 min.
2. Go to a site using flash (e.g., youtube)
3. Keep the mouse inside the plugin area. Mouse events shouldn't matter.
4. After 1 min, the screen starts dimming
5. The plugin no longer accepts mouse events
6. Leave the plugin area to stop the dimming.
Using:
Ubuntu Feisty
opera 9.20-20070409.6
flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.31.0.2ubuntu1
Also installed:
swf-player 0.3.6-2.1
libflash-mozplugin 0.4.13-9ubuntu1
