I have this problem too. The text can be copied & pasted, it's just too small to be visible. Started with gnome-terminal 2.18.1-1ubuntu2. xterm works fine, and other fonts in most other apps are fine. amsn has an error that pops up with invisible text too (the error started before, when I first upgraded to gutsy).
