Public bug reported: I am testing Gutsy Beta at the moment and, as has become horribly common with the -intel driver and compiz, I often have my CPU fly to 100% due to one bug or another.
This morning I had Firefox max out the CPU. I tried to close it with the [x] and waited for the "Force Quit" dialogue to appear. 10 minutes later it still hadn't done so. My understanding is that applications can be run at different priorities and that, were the Force Quit application run at a higher priority than normal applications (such as Firefox), the Force Quit box would be displayed promptly even if a normal-priority application was stuck in an infinite loop. At the moment it seems that Force Quit fails me when I need it the most! ** Affects: metacity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: metacity (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => metacity -- Force Quit should be run at a higher priority than normal applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150796 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
