Yeah I agree too, it's evident that assigning priorities to bugs isn't a simple thing and I think that ubuntu generally do a very great job.
This bug is one of these exceptions we should care about. It would avoid a lot of time lost in comments. I think that the ubuntu community as much as the linux community would greatly appreciate it.
