Description changed to:
There is no way to successfully login to an FTP site that requires username
&
password. There is also no error information presented at all. Nautilus and
the
desktop also hang for several seconds in the process.
Version is Nautilus 2.14.0.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to File -> Connect to Server...
2. Select Service type -> FTP (with login)
3. Enter server name, user name
4. Double click on Desktop icon named "server's name"
Actual results:
A dialog appears that says 'Opening "server's name". You can stop this
operation by clicking cancel.' Then nautilus hangs for about 20 seconds and no
icons appear on the desktop.
Expected results:
A nautilus dialog should ask me for my password and after I enter it, a
nautilus window should appear with the contents of my FTP site.
Does this happen every time?
Yes.
