Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
In Response to this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=190310 Upon restarting the system (after upgrading to Gutsy RC) the GDM-Greeter applicaiton started flcikering and malfunctioning, not allowing me to login. I have been able to fix this using the method in the above-mentioned Ubuntu Forums Post. I edited /etc/gdm/gdm.conf via Vi editor in the recovery console and I replaced Line 67: Greeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmgreeter with Line: 67 Greeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin At the moment I am logging in via the "ugly" debian login/splash screen.
