Ugh, yes, I meant vertically, from the highest pixel line in the panel
to the lowest :-) Indeed like the weather applet.

I will edit the original bug report accordingly.

** Summary changed:

- deskbar applet should use complete horizontal panel space
+ deskbar applet should use complete vertical panel space

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

- The deskbar applet in the upper panel does not stretch horizontally over
+ The deskbar applet in the upper panel does not stretch vertically over
the panel, like other applets do (like the user switch applet). Because
of this, the user cannot put the mouse cursor straight up to the upper
screen edge (in the part where the deskbar applet is located) and click,
but instead he has to navigate the cursor directly over the (relatively
small) icon box of the applet. This adds an unnecessary annoyance to the
deskbar, as most other applets seem to behave "better" (in fact, it
seems that besides the deskbar applet only the network manager applet
- does not stretch over the horizontal space).
+ does not stretch over the vertical space).

This happens with the Gutsy LiveCD as well as with an upgraded Gutsy
  Release Candidate installation.
