I have a suggestion in how solving this bug. I have seen gnome-volume- manager source code and I found inside manager.c the call to show the "Low Disk Space" message. The condition in order to show this message does not have an external variable. Adding one new user parameter to gnome-volume-manager can solve this problem. This solution will deactivate the message in any way. There are many solutions like configuring the disks that will show the message.
