Public bug reported:
There is something really wrong with GIMP following my (otherwise
smooth) upgrade from Feisty Fawn to Gutsy Gibbon. First, the at bootup
the splashscreen identifies the version of GIMP only as "release
candidate". I checked - turns out that the version is GIMP 2.4.0-rc3.
More annoyingly, whenever I move the cursor over an image I get green
paint painted over the image (regardless of the brush or tool I select).
How can I get a stable version of GIMP on my machine?
Thanks,
Mamadu
