Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
After update to gutsy gnome-screensaver does not work anymore. I set it
to blank the screen after 10mins of inactivity, but it does not blank.
If I enable/disable running a screensaver prior to screen blank this
changes nothing. It was working in 7.04. Now it blanks the screen only
occasionally, may be 1 time of 100, when it was supposed to be launched.
I'm not sure, may be only if a system just booted and I pressed nothing
yet.
At the same time, pidgin detects inactivity and goes idle with autoaway,
so there is at least one program which can detect the system is idle.
I.e. that is not that my mouse or keyboard generate random events. When
I move the mouse afterwards pidgin exits away mode, just as expected.
My system is:

My Xorg uses nvidia proprietary driver with Nvidia 5600FX card and only
one head is configured/used with DFP.
The command `xset dpms force off' blanks the screen. I'm not sure if
this matters:
