Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
I'm running Fiesty Fawn 7.0.4 on an Intel Dual Core Duo (64bit) with 2GB RAM. Occasionally (about every 2 or 3 days) the whole PC locks up. I get nothing on the monitor, no response from the num-lock key and I can't ssh or ping it's IP address. I have to hit the reset button to bring it back from the dead. It only ever happens when I'm not sitting using the console. So I assume it's the screen saver (currently set to random). I'll now be changing to a single screen saver to see if the problem goes away. I can see a similar issue (bug #107504) was raised on the 18th of April. Any idea if the issue has been investigated? Also, Is there anyway I can tell which screen saver was last used when it crashed? Thanks in advance. Matt.
