mine does not altogether "crash" the system, but I have choppy audio and the visualization shows only a black screen... I use an Nvidea GeForce 5500 graphics card, I have the desktop visual effects set to none, and I have a compatible driver enabled (though it is a generic driver, it runs games like SecondLife perfectly fine) under my Screen and Graphics preferences. I've installed all updates, though I'm fairly new to linux and have perhaps failed to install something within the terminal.
