Binary package hint: nautilus

i tried to add a new user (which failed, claiming this user is already
existing, which is not correct; what is correct is that such a user
existed in the previous installation  - of which the /home directory
survived).


the attached screenshot shows the cpu usage at 100 - it is a minute later still 
at 95
for nautilus. what is it doing?
